Oliver Twist

Katy has a very cute new kitty named Oliver Twist. He is black with white paws, chin, and belly, and he is a bit over two years old. We picked him up from a shelter near here yesterday afternoon, after getting the necessary kitty stuff from Petsmart the previous day. Hooray for cats. We like cats.

In unrelated news, I would like to note it's possible to get a round-trip flight from London to Prague for around $50, including taxes and fees, on easyJet. While they probably make you sit on cinder blocks during the flight and don't have much of a beverage service, you're still only paying $50. What a deal. I wonder why such cheap fares cannot be found in the States?

Also, I have made little progress on the steel composition thing, but I still have some articles to read on knives. I did, however, figure out that my knives are made of surgical steel.

I flew easyJet from Paris to London and back last summer, and I can report that it was exactly what you'd expect for $50. Think Southwest, only with no electronic check-in option, so you have to stand in line even if you're not checking any luggage. Also, the attendants at the check in counter were of limited intelligence, so the lines took a very, very long time. You get what you pay for. If I had it to do over, I'd go by train...the prices were comparable, and with travel time to & from the airport, time spent in lines at the airport, etc, total travel time would have been very nearly the same, with much less frustration and better scenery. My two cents!

I lived in france and took easyjet a few times. never had any complaints, except stansted is really goddamn far from london!

The paris-london train is usually pretty expensive. Paris-Lyon was 80 euro r/t at the cheapest and I know it's much more than that. there might be deals for tourists though but i'd be shocked if it was. those trains really become a drag once you go off the main lines though.
