Nathan the Wise

Katy and I saw the CMU Drama production of Nathan the Wise last night. It was really, really incredible, and you should read that article about the play.

I read the article. Very interesting. I had no idea that CMU had a campus in Qatar. You learn something every day; indeed, a day that has passed without learning anything is a day wasted. "Nathan the Wise" is a very timely play, just like the article said. Religious tolerance is a great message for the play to convey, especially in the Middle East, where radical fundamentalism seems to be the order of the day. Thank you, CMU, for presenting a play that will make everyone think. Too few people think these days anyway, so I am all for something that will encourage thinking. To always remind me of this statement, I have a miniature version of Rodin's "The Thinker" prominently displayed in my home office. I also have the Discobolus, but that's an entirely different story altogether.

Speaking of CMU having a campus in Qatar, thanks to facebook.com, I got back in contact with my friend, Zaina. On her facebook it said she was attending CMU, so I told her that you're there, too... and then she informed me that she's *actually* in Qatar and will probably be transferring later this year =)
